Trett Films Child Safeguarding Policy
1. Introduction Trett Films is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of children involved in our productions. This policy outlines our approach to safeguarding children, preventing harm, and promoting a safe environment on all sets and projects involving minors.
2. Legal Framework This policy is informed by UK safeguarding laws and best practices, including but not limited to:

The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012
3. Scope This policy applies to all employees, contractors, freelancers, cast, and crew working on Trett Films productions where children (under 18 years old) are involved.
4. Key Principles
The welfare of the child is paramount.
All children have the right to protection from abuse, exploitation, and harm.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
We ensure a safe and positive environment for children participating in our productions.
5. Supervision and Chaperoning
A licensed chaperone or the child’s parent/guardian must be present whenever a child is on set.
A responsible adult must supervise all interactions between children and adults.
Unsupervised one-on-one interactions between adults and children are prohibited.
6. Code of Conduct All Trett Films staff, crew, and contractors must:
Act as positive role models.
Maintain professional boundaries with minors.
Never engage in inappropriate communication or physical contact with children.
Report any concerns about a child’s safety to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
7. Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Trett Films will appoint a DSL responsible for:
Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
Liaising with external safeguarding bodies when necessary.

8 Recognising and Reporting Concerns
All staff must be aware of signs of abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect.
Any concerns must be reported immediately to the DSL.
Confidentiality will be maintained, but information may be shared with relevant authorities if a child is at risk.
9. Filming, Photography, and Data Protection
Written parental/guardian consent must be obtained before filming or photographing minors.
Any footage featuring children will be stored securely and used only for agreed purposes.
Trett Films will comply with GDPR and data protection laws when handling children’s personal information.
110. Training and Awareness
The safeguarding policy will be made accessible to all cast and crew.
11. Review and Monitoring This policy will be reviewed annually or in response to legislative changes. Any updates will be communicated to all Trett Films staff and contractors.
